Choose one clock convention

For an international QA project, store event times in UTC or with an explicit offset. Include the time when the application accepted the request, when the message appeared, and when the tester entered the code. A number with a US calling code does not imply the user or the route is in one specific US time zone.

Read rental expiry precisely

A 1-, 3-, or 30-day rental is an access period, not a promise of a calendar-month boundary in your local time. Check the actual expiration shown in the order. If you expect follow-up messages, schedule them before the end time and review any available renewal option while the rental is still active.

Debug a timing dispute

Convert all recorded events to the same time reference before comparing them. Distinguish code validity, which the destination application controls, from number-rental validity, which controls access to incoming messages. A code can expire while the rental remains active, and a rental can end while an application account remains open.

Questions and answers

Does the number prefix tell me when the rental expires?

No. Use the expiration shown in your order record.

Can a code expire before a rental?

Yes. One-time-code validity and number access are separate timers.

Using SMS Activation responsibly

Use numbers only for accounts, applications, and tests you are authorized to access. Follow the target platform’s terms and local law. Availability, prices, supported routes, and payment networks can change, so verify current details in the dashboard before paying.
